breathe your way into
holistic healing.
Our breath is our lifeline. It literally keeps us alive. Most of us are oblivious to our breath, until it ‘gets knocked out of us’ – literally or figuratively. Actually, most of us go through the day holding our breath – resisting or avoiding feelings of pain, anger, hurt, or illness.
Rather than fighting or resisting pain, mindfulness teaches us to simply be aware, to pay attention.
It is simple but not easy. The “monkey mind” as the Buddhists call the internal chaos, keeps us swinging from past regrets to future worries, and unavailable to the present moment. Mindfulness counseling teaches us to simply observe ourselves with compassion, accept our thoughts and feelings, and then let them go.
Through much discussion and research, we know that healing begins with this awareness and compassion - acceptance that something in our life is causing us suffering.
At Mindfullyfed, we use the breath to practice mindfulness, to center us in the moment. Meditation provides us with the inner space and quiet to observe without judgment. To listen to the breath. To connect with the moment. To begin to accept ourselves right where we are, so that we can begin to heal those broken places within.
